Springs Close Foundation — Community Grants (York, Chester, Lancaster Counties)
Springs Close Foundation
Historic 1942-founded family foundation with $150M+ distributed to date. Project-based funding for 501(c)(3)s serving basic critical needs (food, shelter, emergency medical) OR education initiatives in Chester, Lancaster, and York Counties SC. Applications accepted YEAR-ROUND with specific board deadlines (Jan 15, Mar 6, Apr 17, Jul 1, Sep 1, Oct 15 for 2026). County-specific Community Boards review applications.
USDA AMS Specialty Crop Multi-State Program (SCMP) FY2026
USDA Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS)
$14.3M pool for collaborative multi-state specialty-crop projects addressing food safety, plant pests/disease, research, crop-specific issues, or marketing & promotion. Awards $250,000–$1,000,000 per project, up to 3 years. Mandatory 25% non-Federal cost share (cash or in-kind). Indirect costs capped at 8%. Every project MUST include at least 2 partners in at least 2 different states — a natural fit for a SC-anchor org (e.g., BBOA, cooperative, or nonprofit) partnering with an out-of-state producer network (Chris Kelly's NC/multi-state farmer network qualifies). Entities in participating states (SC is participating) must apply through SCDA, not directly to AMS.
Duke Energy Foundation — Home Repair for Energy Efficiency
Duke Energy Foundation
Grants up to $20,000 for SC nonprofits with existing home repair programs to address health/safety issues for low-income homes.
Self Family Foundation — Greenwood County & Surrounding Area Grants
Self Family Foundation
Long-standing Upstate SC private foundation supporting education, healthcare, and community development in Greenwood County and surrounding communities (Abbeville, McCormick, Saluda). 2026 proposal deadlines: March 1, July 1, and November 1.
